PlotWatt, a SmartGrid startup based in Durham, NC, recently received $1 million in venture capital from a Silicon Valley venture capital fund. The firm, which helps consumers make smart decisions and save money on utility bills based on smart grid information, also won a GE Ecomagination challenge, which came with an additional $100,000.
