Program Overview
The SJF Cleantech Mentorship Program- New York Metro provides a unique opportunity for cleantech entrepreneurs to accelerate the growth of their companies by engaging with experienced entrepreneurial and industry leaders. The program will include:
- Guidance and feedback to early stage ventures from experienced mentors
- Peer-to-peer discussions
- Educational sessions on topics of interest, led by SJF staff or industry experts
- Networking events
- Feedback from SJF Ventures’ investment team
- Access to SJF’s cleantech network
- Input from a strategy roundtable on a key strategic issue
Eligible entrepreneurs
Early stage cleantech entrepreneurs that are committed to accelerating their company’s growth and are able and willing to attend program events in New York City. Applications will be evaluated on the viability and potential of the business model, market size and need for the product or service, experience of the entrepreneur/management team, and the ability of the entrepreneur to benefit from the program. Eligible mentors
A select group of seasoned professionals who have launched and/or had senior management roles in high growth, profitable companies. Individuals who are eager to use their business skills and experience to give back and assist cleantech entrepreneurs to grow their businesses. The SJF Mentorship Program provides a unique opportunity to increase your cleantech industry exposure, network with cleantech professionals, and gain access to SJFs cleantech business network. Program details
- Schedule: The nine-month program will begin in January 2010 and conclude in fall 2010
- Content: Peer content sessions will be tailored to the needs of the selected participants. Possible topics include: Validating your market, Marketing with limited resources, Financial modeling, Legal issues for entrepreneurs, Pitch practice, Financing options and strategies, Recruiting talent and advisors, and Presenting to investors, and more
- Registration Fee: Selected entrepreneurs will be required to pay a $500 fee to participate.
- Openings: Ten entrepreneurs and mentors will be selected to participate
- The deadline has passed.
